Arrested Development Returning to Television

Finally, FINALLY television execs are showing some sense and allowing an innovative television show that isn't dumbed down to go back on the air.

Mitchell Hurwitz, the executive producer, announced at a cast reunion on Sunday that a 10 episode series will air on an undisclosed network. The limited number of episodes will be used to explain where the characters have been and what they have been doing during the 5 years since the show's cancellation.

The mini-series is being used as a run up to the release of the Arrested Development movie mentioned in the final episode of the series and promised by Jason Bateman.

For those of you not familiar with Arrested Development rent or buy the DVDs or watch it on Netflix (ugh) because 1) you need the back story and 2) it's a great show that was cancelled and replaced over the years with pablum for the ignorant.
