I Hate Craigslist
Okay, that's not really fair. I should say I hate the Craigslist moderators.
Craigslist has a section on it for Gigs, which are on off hires. I have tried to use them in the past to hire people for various endeavors including writers, photographers, videographers, models, etc for various ventures I have been involved with and my ads have consistently been pulled.
Going by the rules, I ask on the forum why they were pulled and the pencil necked little geeks living in their parent's basements respond by saying "you don't pay enough, cheapskate". That would be a bona fide complaint, other than the fact that it is entirely subjective, if I didn't actually pay enough or if they had any idea of what they are talking about. In addition, even though they eventually pull the ad I usually get inundated with responses before they do so from people looking for work AT THE PRICE I AM PAYING!
If they would turn off the Anime and put down the Hot Pockets provided by their parents for long enough they would realize 1) there is a recession, 2) people are looking for extra cash, and 3) they have no idea on whether the job pays enough or not. Also, any business course teaches you that fair market value is what a willing buyer pays for something from a willing seller.
Dumbasses.
For instance, I recently put an ad up needing a design reworked slightly. I put a price of $25 on it. Before it was pulled I got several responses and chose one of them. When I sent him the design, I had the reworked version back in less than 15 minutes. That equates to the job paying $100 an hour, probably more than the moderator's parents make and they're supporting their grown ass child living in the basement.
At this point I'm just going to stop messing with Craigslist and start looking for an alternative. I hope people read this and will join with me by sending emails to Craigslist telling them to rein the moderators in. The site isn't supposed to be their connection to the outside world and their entertainment during commercials or when the video games are loading.
Shame on you Craigslist!
