New Flip Videocamera
A while back I read an article in Wired magazine about how people were moving away from high end products and, instead, going to things that were "good enough". As examples the author used the .aac audio file format for the iPod and the Flip Videocamera. I was fascinated by the concept, in case you can't tell I am easily fascinated, and wanted to try the Flip out. Every time I got ready to buy one they would introduce a new model and I was back to research again. Luckily, my daughter resolved my issue and gave me a Flip Mino HD for Christmas. While I won't be shooting any big budget movies on it, I must say I love it! The quality is "good enough" the convenience is fantastic, and the size is perfect for a pocket.
If anybody is considering the purchase, I highly recommend it. I am going to put a sample video on here, click on the highlighted title at the bottom, that I shot at Galveston showing my brilliant and beautiful daughter feeding seagulls from the ferry. Oh, by the way, this is the same daughter that is slightly afraid of seagulls and once refused to leave a McDonalds because her brothers and I were throwing french fries by the door to attract the gulls.
