Our New Puppy
I just got an early birthday present, a Jack Russell Terrier puppy. I've wanted a Jack Russell Terrier since I first saw Eddie on Frasier and was torn between this breed and a German Shepherd. My favorite dogs are Labs but mine was hit by a car a few years ago and I know another one could never replace him so I decided to go ahead with the JRT when offered my choice.
To those of you not familiar with the breed think of the aforementioned Eddie and also Wishbone. So far, everything I read about them is correct. They are high energy and active. Really high energy and really active. Really. He has two speeds WFO and off, with the off mode being used with much less frequency than the WFO.
He is fun though and I'd forgotten how much puppies enjoy life and how everything is an adventure with them. I've only had him a little over three days at this writing but he is getting the idea of house training and understands "No, No!", although he doesn't always cooperate with the instruction.
By the way, his name is 'Sup. As in "Was'sup Dog?"
